In October of 1995, Pat Murakami, pastry chef extraordinaire, opened Ambrosia Fine Food. One of Sacramento's premiere catering companies. Deciding to expand, Pat joined the renaissance of K street mall by opening her first café. In November of 2010, Pat decided to open her second café, expanding the business to the Capitol Mall street locations. She found a "special niche" in both of those locations, representing the "Ambrosia Standard" of fresh prepared foods, made consistent high quality, generous portions, and fair prices.
California-fresh influenced cafés with Ambrosia Fine Foods high quality standards, the cafés are a haven for those on the go for breakfast, lunch or a great cup of coffee. Executive Chef Michael Herman draws inspiration from the freshest products available on any given day from the local markets, farmers and purveyors of meat, fish and fowl. A few notable items from the menu are the Crème Brulee French toast, slow roasted eggplant with Feta cheese and hummus
